Paul Cornish hails from Houston, Texas, continuing a long legacy of forward-thinking musicians like Jason Moran, Robert Glasper, Eric Harland, Kendrick Scott, Chris Dave, Walter Smith III, and James Francies. Cornish was one of seven musicians worldwide selected to be awarded a full fellowship to attend the esteemed Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz at UCLA. Cornish has performed extensively across the globe with artists as diverse and notable as Joshua Redman, Louis Cole, Mark Guiliana, HAIM, Terrace Martin, Kanye West, and many more.
His debut album on Blue Note records “You’re Exaggerating” features two of the most exciting young musicians on the scene: Vicente Archer, who has featured heavily in the groups of Robert Glasper and Nora Jones, and Jonathon Pinson, who can be seen touring with Seal, Kamasi Washington, and Herbie Hancock.
He strives to inspire freedom and collaboration in his music and community.
