Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based vibraphonist and composer has a way of being everywhere interesting at once: from deeply innovative albums like Makaya McCraven’s Universal Beings to revolutionary combos like Marquis Hill’s Blacktet, to his own acclaimed albums on Blue Note.
Quickly becoming an influential voice of his generation, he moves between small groups and larger ensembles, pulling from the language of trailblazing artists like Ornette Coleman while shaping it into a language distinctly his own. His music has a clear focus on space, listening, and feeling.
For this run, he’s joined by a rare lineup of heavyweights, bringing together one of the most exciting bands you’ll hear anywhere in the city: Miguel Zenón, a Grammy Award winner and MacArthur Fellow and Chris Potter, one of the most in-demand saxophonists of his generation.
Joel Ross – Vibraphone

Chris Potter – Tenor sax
