2026 NEA Jazz Master composer and vocalist Carmen Lundy has been carving out her own lane in jazz for over four decades. Her rich, soulful voice gives every tune a direct, personal feel, and her phrasing pulls you in right from the first line, unfolding each song like it’s being told in real time. There’s a natural ease in the way she delivers a lyric that makes the music feel close, present, and alive.
She has performed and recorded with a wide circle of brilliant musicians including Ray Barretto, Bruce Hornsby, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, Robert Glasper, Jamison Ross, and Patrice Rushen, among others.
She is joined by a band of the most creative voices in jazz today, especially her brother the legendary Curtis Lundy.
